Welcome

Thanks for visiting Zoe Counseling!

The decision to seek out counseling is an important and intensely personal one. If you are new to counseling, I know that this can be an anxiety-provoking process – full of unknowns. Before you choose a counselor, you want to learn something about them and what to expect throughout the counseling process. That is the purpose of this website. So, take a look around. Learn about what to expect from counseling and get to know me a little better. If you have questions or think we might work well together, don’t hesitate to contact me.

As a Christian counselor, I approach life difficulties from a biblical worldview. I believe that God's will is to work healing and restoration in the life of every person, every couple, and every family. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have been trained to see people in the context of their social networks of family, friends, and coworkers. Using family systems theory, I help people dig beneath the surface of their troubling symptoms to address the underlying causes of their emotional, relational, and spiritual distress.

My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead the life that God intends for you. Unfortunately, we can't erase painful experiences from the past, but we can work together to better understand how they affect you in the present and reduce or eliminate their influence over your future . If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in life, I would be happy to work with you to achieve your goals.

Please call or email me for an assessment appointment at your convenience. If I'm not able to pi ck up your call, feel free to leave a message on my confidential voicemail.

Zo·e [ zoh -ee] Strong's Lexicon: Greek Origin

Life:

  • of the absolute fullness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through Him
  • life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, and to last forever

"I have come that they may have life [Zoe] , and have it to the full."

- Jesus (John 10:10b)

"In reality, the difference between Biological life and Spiritual life is so important that I am going to give them two distinct names. The Biological sort which comes to us through Nature... is Bios . The Spiritual life which is in God from all eternity, and which made the whole natural universe, is Zoe . Bios has, to be sure, a certain shadowy or symbolic resemblance to Zoe , but only the sort of resemblance there is between a photo and a place, or a statue and a man. A man who changed from having Bios to having Zoe would have gone through as big a change as a statue which changed from being a carved stone to being a real man.

And that is precisely what Christianity is about. This world is a great sculptor’s shop. We are the statues and there is a rumour going round the shop that some of us are some day going to come to life."
- C.S. Lewis, from “ Mere Christianity
